The Rietveld & Sandberg Library has over ten thousand books available for students and alumni. The collection spans different disciplines such as philosophy, art theory and specialist art fields, artists’ books and artists’ writing, social studies, and literature. Collaborations with students, departments and other academy initiatives continuously inform the library and its collection. In recent years the collection has expanded by adopting the library collections of SKOR and museum De Paviljoens.

In addition to building up and maintaining the book collection, the library focuses on generating knowledge and stimulating research by organising a range of activities, including exhibitions, lectures and reading groups. Please check the ‘activities’ page to be informed about the latest projects.

A permanent project hosted by the library is Infrastructural Manoeuvres, which concerns the role and possibilities of a library technical infrastructure manifesting itself through workshops and the development of the library’s catalog, digital database SPLOTR and website.

The library is housed in the basement of the FedLev building, in an interior designed by British artist Nils Norman. The library signage is designed by Geke Zaal and Sissel Vejby Møller.
The website has been developed by Infrastructural Manoeuvres.

Please check the library terms for practical information.
